Mil Mujeres interns and volunteers play an important supporting role in the services we provide to the community. Each year, we host several interns and volunteers in our offices in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
Currently we are recruiting legal interns and outreach volunteers.
We will consider recent graduates, undergraduates, law students and other graduate students. The positions are unpaid, though we encourage applicants to secure funded fellowships. Students may also receive credit in exchange for their services when permitted in accordance with school or law school policies. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in using the law as a vehicle for social change.
Spanish language fluency is required. Candidates should also possess strong written and oral communications skills, and strong research abilities. Mil Mujeres is committed to providing interns with substantial responsibility. We are seeking students/recent graduates who have availability during the week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 - 5..
Specific hours and start/end dates can be flexible. Internships generally follow the academic school year with fall, spring, and summer semester internship, or year long internships.
As part of Mil Mujeres' Immigrant Rights Campaign, outreach volunteers are needed to assist with giving "Know Your Rights" presentations, conducting intakes, and providing attorneys at Mil Mujeres with important information on behalf of immigrant victims.
